Petcurean, a Canadian company based in Chilliwack BC, has expanded its popular NOW FRESHTM line with six new grain-free stew and pate recipes.

Perfect as a treat or topper, the stew and pâtés also work as a complete and balanced meal. They come in six delicious recipes: turkey stew for dogs and cats, pork stew for dogs, wild salmon stew for cats, pork pâté for cats and wild salmon pâté for cats.

All recipes are non-GMO and made in a human-grade facility with human-grade ingredients. This includes 100 percent fresh wild salmon, turkey and pork, and fresh potatoes, carrots, peas, cranberries, sweet potatoes and apples - all excellent sources of antioxidants, essential vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber to support digestive health. NOW FRESH stews and pâtés are made with turkey bone broth, which adds a great source of collagen and a meaty flavor both dogs and cats love.

Other recipe highlights include:

  • Omega 3 & 6 oils from coconuts and canola to promote skin and coat health
  • Flaxseed, an excellent source of dietary fibre and essential omega 3 & 6 fatty acids
  • Dried kelp, a natural source of iodine, dietary fibre, vitamins, and minerals
  • Zero grains, gluten, wheat, beef, chicken, corn, or soy
  • Zero rendered meats, by-products, added growth hormones or artificial preservatives

By launching NOW FRESH in Tetra Pak cartons, Petcurean is responding to the changing expectations of Canadians who want companies to prioritize sustainability in addition to profitability. According to the 2015 Tork Canadian Green Business Survey, more than four out of five Canadians (87 percent) prioritize products/services that have a less degrading impact on the environment and health, with more than two in five (43 percent) believing that "green" products and services are now the new normal.

Tetra Pak cartons are made from 69 percent renewable materials, BPA-free, and more compact to ship than cans. They are also completely recyclable.

In addition to being fully recyclable, the NOW FRESH recipes are cooked directly in the Tetra Pak® cartons to help prevent cross contamination. Each recipe is cooked at the lowest possible temperature for the shortest time. This cooking process helps to ensure:

  • Improved ingredient digestibility and nutrient availability
  • Improved protein functionality and palatability
  • Naturally occurring pathogens are destroyed
  • The food is shelf-stable

We are excited about the launch of the new NOW FRESH recipes and want to share this with you!
