Win a Custom Oil Painting of YOUR Pet from NYC Pet Portraits

Many of my readers know just how much I love my little Oscar, who has officially reached his senior years at the age of 13.  I deeply treasure the time I have with him and I know when he leaves this world for the Rainbow Bridge, he'll forever be in my heart.

My blog is all about celebrating the love we have for our pets; when they are with us and when they have sadly left us.   When I was contacted by the nice people at NYC Pet Portraits about having a custom oil painting done of Oscar, I was absolutely delighted with the idea of having such a special treasure to celebrate my fur kid.  I was even more thrilled when they offered another custom painting to a very lucky reader.  Gillian Wainwright is the incredibly talented artist who as you'll soon see, totally captured my dog's personality.

Gillian was born in London and lived in Italy and Belgium before moving to the United States.  She became interested in painting in her teen-age years and went on to go to undergraduate school at the California College of Arts and Crafts.  Later Gillian got her Masters degree in painting at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, and since then has exhibited in numerous shows in New York City. Having had cats all her life Gillian got her first dog, Henry, a French Bulldog with adorable green eyes (very rare), with her husband David.  As a Christmas present to David she painted a portrait of Henry for him, which he treasures. The portrait holds a prominent place in their living room. This became the very first NYC Pet Portrait

Since then, Gillian has created many more pet portraits to the delight of pet owners around the world. Gillian has a unique ability to capture the most beautiful moments for pet owners everywhere.

Gillian create her original works from photographs so I took the time to really search for one of my favorites of Oscar.   As most cat and dog owners can relate to, I have a squillion photos of my pet on my phone, camera and laptop.   So just a tad to go through, to say the least.  I found a winner though.  This one is a little grainy since it's from my phone but it is "so" Oscar.

I emailed the photo and in just 3 weeks, my gorgeous painting was at my door.   I was absolutely thrilled!!  (The photo doesn't give it justice, as photos of paintings never really do)
