Kate's Cache - Crocheted Dogs to Melt Your Heart
March 12, 2013
Meet Maggie - The newest addition to my home office of characters. Now seriously....is this not one of THE sweetest craftie creations you have ever seen?! Maggie was handmade by a very talented woman, Kathy Trunzo, who has an Etsy Shop called Kate's Cache. She works out of her home in Leechburg, PA and I can just picture all of these adorable yard and fabric creatures coming to life in her studio.
A few months back I stumbled upon her site by accident and just knew I had to have one to join the Pet Blog Lady office crew. I pitched the idea to Kathy of sending me one in exchange for a blog post. (I had already picked out the Petite Amigurumi Chocolate Pomeranian Dog). She was game and the rest is history! Miss Maggie is here and I am totally tickled. And I really want to tell the dog lovers out there about her work. Her creations are so darn special. (and personally I think she should charge more).
I asked Kathy to tell me about her business. (Which opened in January, 2009)
The Etsy experience has been wonderful so far. My fellow Etsians have been very helpful and my customers are awesome! I have quite a few repeat customers, so I feel I must be doing something right.Recently, I have been doing custom dog orders. Customers have been emailing me photos of their dogs and I try to recreate them in yarn. I really enjoy doing this and so far my customers have been happy with the results".
P.S. While writing this post I discovered Nonna Bunny with her Carrots . Guess who's coming to live with The Pet Blog Lady!? I just had to order her before someone else claimed her. I also have a feeling a few more characters will be moving in from Kate's Cache in the future.
These critters are adorable! Over on Pinterest, one of my boards is "Cool Dog Stuff." I've pinned a few of these lovelies and will take great pleasure in helping to drive traffic, uh new business, to Kate's Cache.
