It is very important that bloggers are transparent when it comes to being given product or monies in exchange for articles or product promotion. In fact, it's the law and clearly outlined by the Federal Trade Commission.
I love being a blogger. I LOVE pets of all kinds and hence want to share my joy and interest with as many people as I can. Being able to offer companies an affordable avenue to advertise and to create an income for myself is very rewarding. If a blog post is sponsored, a disclosure statement will be made in the post. If it is a sponsored Tweet, the hashtag #ad or #spon will be included in the tweet.
Amazon Associates Program
Additionally, PetBlogLady.com participates in various other affiliate programs, and we sometimes get a commission through purchases made through our links.
Additional Notes on Product Promotion
I would never promote anything I don't believe in. That would be, well...just wrong. I have also been known to sometimes promote things that are odd or kind of weird. That feels right.
There are costs to running a blog; Typepad Platform subscription, graphic design, Rafflecopter membership, shipping, custom brokerage fees and time spent writing and researching. And coffee.
With the monies I earn, I am also able to do the things I love:
Subscribe to PicMonkey, allowing me to create self-amusing photos
Buy silly things from Amazon
Be able to support "The Biebs"
Buy books and movies on Meerkats
Book my Office Manager Frank into Rehab
Afford thermal clothing for survival in Canada
Clean myself up and actually go on a date
(The Biebs helping me on Thanksgiving)
Hanging with the gang
How I feel at the Mall where the teens hang out
Hugging Frank, my Office Assistant with a drinking problem
